A 3rd generation artisan who learned to cook because my siblings needed a hot breakfast before school each day. As with most large families, both my parents did what was necessary to provide a stable environment for growth. Big Mama taught us the basic of southern scratch cooking. I took a special interest and by age 12, I was preparing breakfast and dinner giving my mom and grandmother a break from the kitchen and assisting with holiday meals, however, my passion was the sweet side of life. My mom nicknamed me "Chef Diesel" because of the designs, flavors I created, and the reactions from recipients. I served my country in the Navy. While serving, I attended Johnson & Wales University, earning a Culinary Arts degree, but my love for the bakery only grew. Retiring some years later, colleagues, friends, and family encourage me to put down roots so they could take advantage of the creations I have made while traveling the world. I wanted to continue to be as unique as my origins so Creative Designs Cakery was born. Thanks Mom & Granny!
